Our family went to the Hyrum State Park Campground for our annual ward camp-out recently. I highly recommend it for a larger group. It has a large, grassy area and "facilities" (flushing toilets and showers). There's also a reservoir nearby for fishing, swimming, waterskiing, crawdad fishing, etc. We camped in our 8-man tent that Erica bought for my birthday a few years ago. It's been a great tent.
Conner, Adam and I woke up early Saturday morning and went fishing with a neighbor (Dave Golightly) in his boat. He's an excellent fisherman and promised that we would catch fish before we called it a day. There was a lot of excitement each time a fish would strike. Adam ended up catching two fish and Conner caught one. We had a great morning. We brought the fish back to camp and cooked them within an hour of catching them. They were the best rainbow trout I've tasted. They're much better when they're cooked immediately after the catch. Adam then proceeded to take the remaining fish meat to all the ward members still left in camp, insisting that they try some. We had a lot of fun.

The campground.

Departing for the fishing hole at 6:15 a.m. That's Dave Golightly in the back.

The mighty fishermen.

This shot is posted here for two reasons. The first is to show how beautiful Erica looks on camp-outs. The second is to show what Adam was doing for most of the morning after we returned from our fishing trip. He had the 3 fish in a bag. He went from tent-to-tent showing everyone the fish, and telling them of the fight they gave before they succumbed to Adam's wily pole. I love the determined look on his face.

You know I wondered why the Golightly's were leaving so early in the morning. They were parked out right beside us and I heard the roar of the truck and though "What the.........."
I also wondered why Adam was carrying around so many fish and why he was beating them down after the were already dead. I thought they were someone else's and he'd laid claims on them. Turns out the fish were his. See now I'm so glad I didn't judge or say anything.
Fresh fish is wonderful to eat.
I'm glad you guys had fun and I need to ask Erica how she remains so beautiful camping. I need tips.
