Trimming The Tree

Tonight for Family Home Evening we decorated the Christmas tree. In preparation for the evening's undertaking, Bing Crosby and Dean Martin crooned Christmas carols as the scent of cinnamon and cloves wafted through the house. The atmosphere was perfect for such an occasion. In fact, the atmosphere was so perfect that the kids knew something phenomenal was about to take place. The anticipation was virtually too much for them to handle. They were dashing around the house in a froth-mouthed fever pitch, barely able to keep themselves from ripping the furniture to pieces in the sheer elation of the event. Utopian sentiments were prevalent this evening. Somehow, we managed to get the tree in place, lit and decorated with enough time for a treat. Woo-hoo! A Christmas miracle.

Actually, I may be exaggerating a little bit about the kid's excitement level. But only a little. It's fun to have the wide-eyed excitement in the house during the holidays. The tree looks great and the spirit of the season is in full swing at the Anderson home.

Merry Christmas to all.

While our attention was preoccupied with decorating the tree, Christian was busy outfitting himself with our Christmas stockings.

Love the Christmas tree. Looks wonderful. I also LOOVE the your stockings, they look great on Christian. Yesterday was the PERFECT day to put up the Christmas Tree, with the snow and all. I love it!

Enjoy the excitement of the kids. They lose it as they get older and they don't want to help with the tree. I Love Christian's stockings.

I love FHE in December for all the Christmas related fun. We had decorated our tree previously, so we talked about the symbols of Christmas, with the help of the tree and ornaments.
Lily found her stocking last week and wore it for the rest of the afternoon. Very lopsided.

Oh I am sure that is really how the excitement of your children were. Your home is the fun home. What a wonderful night. Now I need to get our tree out (we do the fake thing) & get it up before Christmas is over! Thanks for sharing your fun night!

You sure have a way with words! Our children had to do it by themselves (with a little help from Jeff) this year. They "did it up right", too! Looks like you had fun!

Looks good....Our kids don't quite know what Christmas is all about yet, so the anticipation in the Burst house wasn't as exciting as yours, but it's hard to keeps Sam's busy little hands off the tree, so all the ornaments start at three feet up. Merry Christmas!!!

We love the disneyland pictures. We are looking forward to seeing you at Christmas. Have fun until then.
