Conner's Band Concert

Conner had a band concert last night. It was the final performance of the year for the band and they rocked the house—blew the roof clean off the place. People fainted in the aisles. Grown men openly wept after each successively more beautiful performance. Infants stopped crying and were left, mouths gaping wide. Cherubs descended from the rafters to listen...

...At least that's how it seemed to all the proud, camera-toting parents.

The band really did an excellent job. I'm amazed at how good they sounded for only having played their instruments for a mere 9 months and counting. Conner has really enjoyed band this year and is preparing to try out for jazz band in a week or so. He plays the trombone which is the same instrument I played at my ol' alma mater—GO WOLVES! Ah, good times. Playing the trombone taught me many things—like, did you know that if you take the slide off the end of a trombone, you end up with a perfect and extremely accurate spit-wad shooter? I'm just sayin'.

This is another example of my sick photography skills. This is the EXACT way Christian was feeling last night after an hour and a half of listening to a band concert.

You HAVE to frame that last pic.

I love the way Christian enjoyed his band concert. It kind of reminds me how you, Ryan and Tyler enjoyed the many graduations that you attended.

So proud of you Conner. Great job!

Ryan did that make a double barreled spitwad shooter or just a single?

It is amazing how well the 7th grade band sounds when they have only playing a for 9 months. Love the last picture!

Again, I enjoyed your great humor. Now you understand why your mom wrote epistles in the newspaper about how her kids single-handedly won games, jumped over tall buildings in a single bound, etc. etc. Know what I mean??

Conner, you're lookin' quite dapper in your suit, and very intelligent demeanor...Grandmas are really good at telling who is smart and talented and very good lookin'. Dads and Moms are pretty good at that too!!!!

Enjoyed the post!!

Ry, Did you retouch or change that pic of Christian? That is awesome and an unbelievable shot if it's for real.

Mom,

No touch-ups on the photo of Christian. Just really lucky timing.
