Birthday Dinner

We celebrated Erica's birthday yesterday. We capped-off the celebration with a dinner at "The Roof" restaurant. "The Roof" is the kind of place that "extended-pinky-drink-sipping" is standard practice among most of the regulars. We aren't regulars, by any means, so our drink sipping must have looked a bit unrefined to the sophisticates nearby. Seriously though, the food was great and the view was even better.

When we arrived, they sat us at a table along the back wall of the restaurant. We were a little disappointed about not getting a seat near the window. But our seats hadn't even had time to warm up before our waitress was back, announcing that a window table had just opened up. Score!

For those that have been to "The Roof" before, you know the atmosphere is great—with live piano music, an incredible view of the temple and terrific food and desserts. Just the kind of place to help a mom unwind from the events of the day. Events that included a confused 2 year-old learning the difficult lesson that, although a sink is NEAR the toilet, it is NOT the toilet. (And we're not talking #1, if you know what I mean)

I thought these two photos of the temple turned out amazingly well, considering they were shot with our point-and-shoot camera through the restaurant window.

Happy Day to Erica! It looks like a great date and break from her motherly duties of REALLY cleaning the sink!

Happy Birthday, Erica. What a nice evening you had. In the photo both you and Ryan just glow. The temple is beautiful. You two were sealed for all eternity in that very holy place. Isn't the "ride" through life enjoyable and wonderful most of the time?
Wishing you have many many more enjoyable birthdays

Love,

Mel
