The kids had taken it upon themselves to surprise Erica with an early Mother's Day gift by cleaning the entire house while we were gone. They did a wonderful job, too. It was a jaw-dropping Mother's Day surprise for Erica. We were shocked, surprised, amazed and grateful all at the same time. We have great kids and YES, we ARE biased. But we still have great kids. With this kind of gift giving going on at our house, I've decided the time to drop ever so subtle hints about Father's Day gifts is NOW.

Good on them. Isn't it fun when all the teaching and training and patience pays off?
So proud of you Conner and Abbie!
Happy belated Mother's Day Erica!
This gesture really makes everyone feel great doesn't it??
Love,
Grampa
It's things like that that make being a parent worth it. You do have great kids.
so cute. my favorite part is that they've outlined, in detail, all of their hard work so that you might not miss something they did. i think we, as mothers, should start doing this for our husbands and children--instead of saying that mothering is a thankless job, we'll simply leave lists of all we did for people everywhere.
dear rob:
please note that the dishes were loaded, cleaned, and unloaded; the nasty chocolate ice cream you spilled (and then let dry) has been scraped off the floor; your dirty socks have been removed from the kitchen counter, etc. etc. etc.
you're welcome.
graciously,
mare
what do you think?
