Conner has been learning Stravinsky's, Firebird Suite (1919 Version) and he's getting pretty good at playing it. For those of you familiar with the Firebird Suite, you know that the beginning part is soft and slow. I think in musical circles you would call it "piano" or even "pianissimo." That's latin for "yawn." But you also know that there's a section of the song that's played as loudly as possible. These same musical circles would most likely call this sort of playing "forte" or "fortissimo." Latin for "Rock on!" Conner plays this part as fortissimo as our piano can handle. It used to make Christian rather upset every time he'd hear Conner play it. Christian's over his Firebird hatred now and can reluctantly enjoy the song, or even ignore it all together. Here's a clip of Conner rocking out on Stravinsky.
