Candlelight Christmas

We went to the Candlelight Christmas at This Is The Place Heritage Park for our Family Home Evening tonight. We went with a majority of the Harris clan. It was great. We learned how Christmas-time might have been in the late 1800s. We made Christmas ornaments in oil-lamp lit cabins, learned how to square-dance and saw a live Nativity, to name just a few of the activities. The evening's crowning-point was a train ride to the barn where Father Christmas and his reindeer had stopped by to pay a visit.

On the way home Adam asked, "Was that the REAL Santa?"
Erica answered, "What do you think, Adam?"
Adam quickly replied, "Yes, I KNOW that was the real Santa because I looked under his beard and there wasn't any tape or glue!"
With those kind of astute sleuthing skills, I think Adam has a bright future as a private investigator. That settles it. If you want the real Santa experience, you need to go to the Candlelight Christmas event. He looked pretty real to me.
Judge for yourself.
Here's Christian giving St. Nick the same reaction he gave this guy.

Riding the train to see Santa.

They put on a puppet show, too.
On Saturday night, Conner and I went to the Jazz game. We had 7th row tickets again. They played the Orlando Magic and, unfortunately, the Jazz lost. We were completely baffled by this because Conner had, once again, donned his purple Jazz wig for the big game. How could we lose with the good karma that Jazz wig brings to the table? I guess at the very least, Conner was looking pretty dapper.

What a great idea! I didn't even know they did that type thing. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Sorry about the Jazz. Maybe Conner should have danced with the wig on... I bet they'd have won!!!

What a great night. Taylor asked me the other day if I thought Santa was a Mormon. I wasn't quite sure what to say to that. I told him I sure hoped he was. He said if not what religion I thought he might be? Our kids think deep.

I think he looks like the real Santa. Tim and I went to the Jazz game too. Our seats weren't as good we were in the nose bleed section. It was still fun.

We had plans to head to the Candlelight Christmas too. Your pictures make it seem like something to still try and fit in! Looks like fun.
