Abbie and I went on a daddy-daughter date tonight. We dressed-up for our big night out on the town—topped off with a red daisy wrist corsage. We had a great time. Everyone that saw us was jealous of my date. I taught her the finer points of waiting at the door until the "guy" gets the hint and opens it for you. And, Abbie taught me everything I ever wanted to know about being a third grader.
Abbie enjoyed her meal and pie and I enjoyed an hour or so of uninterrupted discussion with my little girl. It was a fun evening—one that Abbie has been looking forward to for a while. When we pulled back into the driveway, at the end of the date, Abbie voiced her disappointment that it had come to an end so quickly.
We'll have to do it again soon.

I taught her everything she knows about food etiquette.
