The Year Was 1989!

I grew up in a small town. How small? Well, the photo below is a snapshot of my 20 year high school reunion.
Granted, less than half of my graduating class showed up to commemorate the occasion, but even taking that into consideration, we were a pretty small class. 48 of us to be exact.

The reunion was on Saturday evening. It was a lot of fun getting together with old classmates, some of whom I hadn't seen in 20 years and some I didn't even recognize. This made for some sweet awkward moments.

You're probably thinking, "C'mon Ryan, there are only 48 people in your graduating class. How hard can it be?" That's what I thought too, but hey, a couple of them looked really different. After I figured out who everybody was, it turned out to be a really fun evening. Although, I'm still coming to terms with the fact that it's been 20 whole years since I graced the halls of my alma mater.
Before the reunion, we went flying in my Dad's airplane. Here's an aerial photo of the town where I grew up. That's it in it's entirety. A pretty small town, but an awesome place to grow up.
This is my Dad's hangar at the airport. He built it himself over the past few months.
In the back of the hangar he has a sitting area for those who are waiting for the next airplane ride. It's a comfortable place to wait.
Here we have copilots Christian and Adam. The microphones on the headsets kept Adam entertained and everyone else slightly annoyed for the entire flight.
Once we were airborne, my Dad let Abbie take over the controls. Abbie, who doesn't know the meaning of the word "FEAR," loves to dip and sway the plane endlessly. For me, this causes bouts of nausea that last for the remainder of the day.
Here they are just lifting off. It was a great day for flying.

I like this photo.

What a fun weekend! I got to fly my uncle's plane when I was in Junior high. I have to say I flew it the same way Abbie did.

Didn't realize you were from a small town. How fun to go back and see old friends.
The arial shot of the town is great! Wonder how many roads have/haven't been added...how much has/hasn't changed.
