Conner has finished his final three merit badges required to earn his Eagle and he's begun work on his Eagle project. He's decided to do a neighborhood book drive using the Stake boundaries as the perimeter for his collecting efforts. Yesterday afternoon, he started delivering fliers announcing dates and times of his book drive with help from the Scouts of Troop 739. It's going to be a lot of work, but very rewarding in the end. Conner has always been a compulsive reader. So, he was excited to do a book drive in hopes of being able to provide a love of reading to others that may not have the resources. He plans on collecting all the books on Tuesday, June 29th. He's doing a great job organizing his project. His project goal is to collect and distribute at least 500 books. We'll keep you posted as his project progresses.

Here are a few of the people that showed up to help him deliver the initial round of fliers. There were several more that helped out that aren't represented in this photo.

Post-delivery treats.

Great Eagle project, Conner. It is an important one as well. How long do you think this project will take?
So proud of you in your scouting.
Love Grampa
Good luck Conner!
Good luck with the eagle projedct. Sounds like a good one!
ah...I just sorted through my shelves and shelves of picture books and gave boxes worth away. If only I'd hung onto them a few weeks longer. I'll still try to dig some up...but the pickings are much slimmer.
What a great project. Good luck getting to the goal!
