It was a perfect autumn day yesterday so we thought we'd try to get a decent photo of the kids in the backyard with the small window of good weather. I told the kids that it could take up to 20-25 minutes to get a nice photo. There was a lot of gnashing and irritated mumbling from the kids after my announcement so I asked them to prove me wrong. I told them that if everyone looked at the camera and smiled all at the same time, it would take an effortless 5 minutes. They dutifully resolved to put on a happy face and cooperate. But I'll tell you what, it is nigh unto impossible to get four kids between the ages of three and fourteen to look in the same direction and smile for more than a nanosecond. I had to be pretty quick on the draw because, as you remember from junior high science class, a nanosecond is awfully fast.
It all worked out OK as you can see in the photo above. How long did it take? About 20-25 minutes.

Beautiful!! I love Christian's little "chessy-cat" grin. Very nice. Could be considered a professional photo. Ya did good!! Of course, I had to "steal" it.
Oh, you might want to take a look at your title, and do a little editing (challenger)!

And as for herding cats - well taking pictures of three two-year-olds is our herding-cats challenge.
Great photo! I think 20 -25 minutes is relatively a short amount of time! Great job.
