Dear Ol' Dad

See that good-lookin' guy in the above photo? (Sorry ladies—he's taken) That's my dad. Do you know why he's so happy? Well for one reason, he just had a birthday. For another, that birthday just made him officially eligible for the senior discount wherever he chooses. That's right, my dad is at the blessed age of retirement and he's ready to reap all the superannuated benefits that come with it.

To welcome in the occasion we had a black-balloon shindig in his honor.
That's what a cake sporting 65 candles looks like. And yes, it's very difficult to light that many candles all at one time.
He had a lot of help opening his presents. I told you he was getting old, so he needs all the present-opening help he can get.
He had quite a few presents, so his "helpers" were in fine form. We couldn't work them too hard, however. We didn't want to violate any child labor laws.
The partygoers.
Happy birthday, Dad! We love you.
