As you can see in the above photo, Abbie and Adam left the house this morning with backpacks in tow and the smell of newly purchased clothing lingering behind them. I'm sure fleeting thoughts of summer snow cones, hammocks, lemonade stands and the smell of freshly cut grass tumbled through their grey matter as they made their way to the deceptively welcoming front doors of the elementary school. That aforementioned grey matter is about to be put to better use than mere summer daydreaming. It's time to start another school year. And I think I speak for every red-blooded, American kid when I say, summer is much too short. Yet, here we are at the commencement of another season of book learnin'. Conner is a Sophomore this year so he starts school before the crickets have called it a day...or rather, a night.
So to put the finishing touches on the summer of 2011, we decided to squeeze one more water skiing trip into this past weekend. Woohoo!
In other news, Christian had his first piano recital last week. Yep, he nailed it. And look how dapper he looked in his little suit. Way to go, Buddy.

Oh my gosh! What great pix! Love, love, love the cute pic of Christian. Had to steal it really fast before it got away! Abbie and Adam look great! So much more fashionable than their ol' Grams heading off to 1st grade. And much more excited too! And Conner is hangin ' onto summer the best way he knows how!
